This policy covers everything that happens on heromarket.com.

Hero Market is operated by Sugar Capital, Inc., a Delaware corporation based in San Francisco. When this page says “we,” it means Sugar Capital staff administering Hero Market.

Your email, handle, display name, optional avatar, the trades you make, the comments you post, and standard server logs.

• Account data. Email address (used to sign in), the handle you pick at onboarding, optional display name, and an avatar - either one you upload or one imported from Google when you sign in with OAuth.
• Activity. Markets you create or comment on, trades you execute (buys and sells), and positions you hold. These are part of the product surface (leaderboard, profile, calibration record), so they are visible to other signed-in users by design.
• Notification preferences.Whether you’ve opted into specific email or push channels for resolutions, replies, and watchlist digests.
• Server logs.IP address and user-agent on each request, retained briefly for rate limiting, abuse detection, and debugging. Not joined to your account beyond what’s required for those uses.

To run the account, render the leaderboard and calibration record, send the emails you opt into, and keep the site usable.

We don’t collect anything we don’t use, and we don’t use what we collect for advertising. The business model is a future paid data product built on the platform Brier - not surveillance of individual users.

You, other signed-in users (for the parts you publish to the site), and Sugar Capital staff who administer the platform.

• Other users see: your handle, display name, avatar, leaderboard ranking, comments, and any positions reflected on your profile.
• Staff see: everything above plus your email, account-management metadata, and moderation signals. Access is tier-gated (moderator, operator, admin) inside our admin tooling.
• No one else. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for advertising, analytics resale, or data brokering.

We use a small number of vendors to run the site. Each holds part of your data on our behalf.

• Supabase - database, auth, and file storage (avatars).
• Vercel - web hosting and serverless function execution.
• Resend - transactional email delivery (sign-in links, resolution payouts, replies).
• Google - OAuth sign-in (only if you choose that method) and, if enabled, Google Analytics for aggregate traffic metrics.
• ImprovMX - forwards mail sent to hello@heromarket.com to a Sugar Capital inbox.

One first-party cookie for your sign-in session. That’s it.

Hero Market sets a Supabase auth cookie scoped to heromarket.com so you stay signed in across page loads. We do not set tracking, advertising, or third-party analytics cookies on our own. If you sign in with Google or if Google Analytics is enabled, those services may set their own cookies per their policies.

Account data lives until you ask us to delete it. Server logs roll off automatically.

Trade history and resolved-market records are kept indefinitely while your account is active because they are the basis of the leaderboard and the platform Brier. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal identifiers (email, display name, avatar) and anonymize your trade record so the platform-wide accuracy stats stay intact.

Access, correction, export, deletion. Email us; we’ll do it.

Write to hello@heromarket.com with what you need. Standard turnaround is one week. We may ask you to confirm the request from the email address on the account.

California residents: you have CCPA rights including access, deletion, and the right to opt out of sale of personal information. Hero Market doesn’t sell personal information, so the third right has nothing to opt out of, but the access and deletion paths above apply.

Hero Market is for adults working in or adjacent to the consumer brands industry. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

If you believe a child has signed up, write to hello@heromarket.com and we will remove the account.

We update the date at the top when this changes. Material changes go out via email to active accounts.
